Download Database


You have the option of downloading the data that is used by the Hospital Compare tool onto your computer. The data will be downloaded as a zipped Microsoft Access 2000 database or as a .CSV file. This functionality is primarily used by health policy researchers and the media, and includes some additional information concerning hospital characteristics that is not displayed on the website. For information about hospitals in a particular geographical area, you should use the Hospital Compare tool instead of downloading the data.

Data Collection Periods for Hospital Compare
The collection period for the measures is generally 12 months. However, some measures may be based upon fewer than 12 months. Generally, the Hospital Compare Quality measures are refreshed the third month of each quarter. The chart below provides the current collection period for data displayed on Hospital Compare.
