Here are some tips that will help you search for the information you need:
You may search for and compare hospitals while on this tool. You can begin your search by choosing the 'Find Hospitals' button on the Hospital compare Home Page.
Step 1: Enter a Location: You must first enter a location by zip code or city, state.
Choose a Search Type: The general search provides information on: Hospital Process of Care Measures; Hospital Outcome of Care Measures; and Survey of Patients' Hospital Experiences;. You can also search by a specific medical condition or surgical procedure. The specific search provides information on: Hospital Process of Care Measures, Hospital Outcome of Care Measures, Survey of Patients' Hospital Experiences, Imaging Efficiency Measures and Number of Medicare Patients.
Please Note: Not all hospitals will have information reported or available.
Choose Hospitals to Compare: This page contains your search results, if you select a general search you will see a tab with general information and Quality of Care information. By selecting a specific medical condition or procedure you will also see a tab for Medicare Payment to Hospitals and the Number of Medicare patients treated.
Select which hospitals you would like to compare (maximum 3).
Once you have made your selection click the 'Compare' button to proceed.
Compare Hospitals: This page will provide you with different types of information to compare the hospitals you previously selected.
Please Note: Depending on the Search Option you selected on the Home page, whether you specified a medical condition, or surgical procedure, or chose a general search, some categories of information might not be displayed on this page.
If you want to view the Hospital Compare in a larger font, click on the ‘AAA' link located in the upper right corner of your screen. To return to the normal font size, click on the ‘AAA’ link.
